Arc Raiders' rusted parts are hard to come by without the whole world looking them up to upgrade your Gunsmith bench. In the post-apocalypse they are very hard to find, especially with all of those abandoned machines, vehicles and buy arc raiders loot.

 I have good news as well as bad news. It's great to know that Buried City has a very profitable route. You can often get up to two, even three rusted sprockets per run. It isn't very fast, because of all the breaches you'll need to perform.

 Below I'll show you the exact route to follow and where to go to get rusted metal parts. Once you have the parts you require, you will be close to a metro where you can extract.

 All the maps have rusted-out gears. In order to obtain rusted items, it is best to loot Warehouses and Marano Stations located to the northwest of Buried. There are a lot of generators and cars in this area, so go through the containers one by one.

 You can find the two generators in the warehouse on the eastern side. I've discovered that both of these rusted generators could be a problem.

 In the Marano Station parking lot, on the north-end of the station, you should check all car hoods. The number of cars will take a long time. There's a good loot spot right on the station platform.

 Parking Garage will not surprise you to learn that your goal in the game is to loot every car on the floor. The Bombardier can often be found on the roof of the garage, or it may patrol the street.

 The Blue Gate Checkpoint zone and Warehouse are the two most common places where you can find gears. Adrenaline, Zip Lines and Smoke Grenades are recommended for quick escapes due to the amount of players and ARCs in an area.

 Rusted Gears could also occur in other places such as:

 Dam Battlegrounds includes a Scrap Yard, Hydroponic Dome/Power Generation Complexes (and Water Treatment Control Areas), and Water Treatment Control.

 Rusted Gears are spawned in many areas on the map. It is therefore important to inspect any source containers you find.

 They are rare items despite the rating of Rare. You may want to consider bringing a nonfree augment, or even nothing at all, in order to have a Secure Pocket for your gear if you get knocked out.
