🎯 Delicious Thai beef salad recipe 🍜🥗 ✅️ Ingredients : 1 1/2 tbsp fresh lime juice 1 garlic clove, crushed 1 tbsp finely chopped palm sugar 1 tbsp fish sauce 2 tsp sesame oil 1 tsp Coles Asia soy sauce 2 tsp finely grated fresh ginger 1 (about 680g) beef rump steak 1 x 200g pkt grape tomatoes, quartered 1 continental cucumber, halved lengthways, thinly sliced diagonally 1 red onion, halved, cut into thin wedges 2 long fresh red chillies, halved, deseeded, thinly sliced lengthways 1 bunch fresh mint, leaves picked, large leaves torn 1 bunch fresh coriander, leaves picked 1 bunch fresh Thai basil, leaves picked, large leaves torn 55g (1/3 cup) toasted peanuts, coarsely chopped 4 makrut lime leaves, centre veins removed, finely shredded ********************* ✅️ Method Step 1 Whisk together lime juice, garlic, fish sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger and palm sugar in a jug. Place the steak in a glass or ceramic dish. Drizzle with half the dressing. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge, turning occasionally, for 2 hours to develop the flavours. Step 2 Preheat a barbecue grill or chargrill pan on high. Cook steak on grill for 2-3 minutes each side for medium or until cooked to your liking. Transfer to a plate. Cover with foil and set aside for 10 minutes to rest. Step 3 Place the tomato, cucumber, onion, chilli, mint, coriander, basil, peanuts and lime leaves in a large bowl. Thinly slice steak across the grain and add to the salad. Drizzle with remaining dressing and gently toss to combine. Divide salad among bowls and serve immediately.

Bugsy Siegel a bâti un empire criminel grâce à la contrebande, au jeu et à des assassinats impitoyables avant de s’installer à Las Vegas. Il a ouvert le célèbre hôtel et casino Flamingo, le point de départ de sa célèbre opération de jeu au milieu du désert de Las Vegas. En 1947, il a été abattu au domicile de sa petite amie Virginia Hill à l’âge de 41 ans. 🔹️ Premières années de vie Siegel est né Benjamin Siegel, le 28 février 1906, à Brooklyn, New York. Fils d’immigrants juifs, Siegel a été élevé dans le quartier de Williamsburg, où la criminalité est omniprésente et où les gangs irlandais et italiens sont très présents. Adolescent, il extorquait de l’argent aux vendeurs de charrettes dans le Lower East Side de New York. En 1918, Siegel s’est lié d’amitié avec Meyer Lansky, un autre hooligan, avec qui il a fondé le Bugs-Meyer Gang, une bande de mafieux juifs impitoyables qui dirigeait un groupe de tueurs à gages sous le nom de Murder, Inc. 🔹️ Activité criminelle Dans les années 1920, le chef de la mafia Charles « Lucky » Luciano et plusieurs autres gangsters italiens se sont organisés en un syndicat national. En 1945, le couple s’installe à Las Vegas, où Siegel commence à réaliser son rêve de construire une Mecque du jeu dans le désert du Nevada. Grâce au financement du syndicat du crime de l’Est, la construction de l’hôtel et du casino Flamingo a commencé sous la supervision de Siegel. Prévu à l’origine pour un budget de 1,5 million de dollars, le projet de construction s’est rapidement avéré problématique car les coûts de construction ont grimpé à plus de 6 millions de dollars. Lorsqu’il fut découvert que de nombreux dépassements étaient attribuables aux vols et à la mauvaise gestion de Siegel, Lansky (désormais membre éminent du syndicat de l’Est) devint furieux de sa trahison. 🔹️ Mort Le soir du 20 juin 1947, Siegel est brutalement tué, lorsqu’une fusillade de balles s’abat sur la fenêtre du salon de Hill à Beverly Hills où il est en visite. Simultanément, trois des cohortes de Lansky sont entrées dans l’hôtel Flamingo et ont déclaré une prise de contrôle. Bien que Lansky ait nié toute implication dans le coup, il y a peu de doute que Siegel a été assassiné sur ordre du syndicat. 🔹️ Femme et filles Siegel a épousé son amour de jeunesse Esta Krakower en janvier 1929, et ensemble ils ont eu deux filles : Millicent (décédée en 2017) et Barbara.
